Nigeria’s minister of labor and employment Chris Ngige says the second phase of the N-power recruitment of unemployed persons will be opened immediately after may 29, 2017.
The minister who was reacting to questions on two years of Buhari’s administration says although the APC government had promised three million jobs yearly, but encountered some challenges, which landed the country in a recession.
The minister said even though the jobs promised have not been met, efforts were made to protect existing jobs especially in the oil and gas and the banking sectors.
Two hundred and fifty thousand unemployed graduates were recruited in 2016 in the first phase of the n-power project, with a monthly stipend of thirty thousand naira only.
However, some volunteers have staged protests of non-payment since enlisted and have accused the n-power operators in Karu local government area of Nasarawa state of double standard by short-changing names of qualified persons.
